Day 1 - Arrival in Sao Vicente

Welcome by our team at Cesaria Evora airport. Transfer to Mindelo and check into your hotel in the centre of Mindelo. Possibility of enjoying Laginha beach depending on arrival time. Meals on your own

Day 2 - Santo Antão Island: Col de Forquinha - Chã de Morte

In the morning, you will be taken to the port for a 1-hour boat trip to the island of Santo Antão. On arrival at Santo Antão, our driver will be waiting for you with a sign bearing your name. You will then have a 30-minute transfer to Alto Mira, the starting point for your hike to discover the semi-arid landscapes, between oases of crops and sharp basalt cliffs.
You will then walk down to Chã de Morte, where you will spend the night in a family-run guesthouse.

Day 3 - Corda village, Ribeira Grande - Figueiral

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the village of Corda. On this day, you will first discover the historic cobbled road of Corda, which stretches for 36 kilometres, and then the multitude of varied landscapes it crosses. From the village of Corda, descend towards Ribeira Grande, cross the foothills of the valley and then reach your accommodation in Figueiral, where you spend the night in a guest house.

Day 4 - Coastal path - Cruzinha - Fontainhas - Ponta de Sol

In the morning, you will set off towards the coastal village of Cruzinha along the road that crosses the Garça valley. You will then follow an ancient cobbled path along the coast. In the afternoon, your route will take you through the charming villages of Formiguinhas and Corvo, before beginning the ascent of the famous Way of the Cross. You will then reach the village of Fontainhas, renowned for its brightly-coloured houses, before ending your day in Ponta do Sol, the island’s historic port. You will spend the night in a hotel in Ponta do Sol.

Day 5 - Loop, Ribeira da Torre Valley - Vinha Waterfall - Xoxo

After a short drive, you will reach the magnificent Ribeira da Torre Valley, a deep volcanic valley surrounded by cliffs and adorned with spectacular peaks. During this day, you will have the opportunity to explore rural life and discover the local cultures at the heart of this unique landscape. Descending through fields of sugar cane and yams, you will appreciate the natural beauty of the area as you visit a magnificent waterfall, VINHA FALLS. Transfer (15 mins) to Vila das Pombas, Paul Valley.

Day 6 - Paul Valley - Vila Das Pombas

Transfer along the coastal road to the end of the Paul Valley route, at the eastern tip of the island. You will then embark on a superb hike through the Paul Valley. You’ll have the opportunity to contemplate impressive panoramas, staircase crops, imposing peaks and picturesque waterways. Explore the intensely cultivated Cabo de Ribeira cirque, where you’ll be immersed in local traditions and have the chance to savour local cuisine in the homes of local people. Afterwards, visit a regional distillery where rum is produced. At the end of the hike, transfer to your accommodation.

Day 7 - Return to Mindelo

In the morning, the driver will pick you up, then transfer to Porto Novo via the Janela coastal road. Boat to Mindelo at 10am. On arrival in Mindelo, you will be transferred to your accommodation.

Day 8 - Flight home

Transfer to the airport according to flight schedule.
