When Is the Best Time for Whale Watching?
The season follows wildlife rather than a fixed calendar. February to May is the usual planning window, with March and April generally offering the strongest seasonal focus. Timing varies from year to year.
The season may begin during February. Sightings can be more variable, so flexibility is particularly valuable.
March is normally part of the main seasonal window for humpback whale activity around Boa Vista.
April is also considered part of the principal period, though every day and every departure remain different.
Whales may still be present as the season approaches its end, but timing and frequency can vary.
Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed. Boat departures also depend on sea and weather conditions. Exact operating dates should be confirmed before the itinerary is finalised.
